Helping Your Daughter Thrive: Welcome to The Brave Girl Project!
Mar 26, 2025
Whether you’ve been here a while or you’re one of my new friends, I thought it’d be fun to reintroduce myself and share a little about how The Brave Girl Project got started.
I’m Laura Hayes—a licensed school counselor, life coach, and the founder of The Brave Girl Project. But more importantly, I’m someone who’s passionate about helping girls navigate the tricky parts of growing up—friendship drama, confidence struggles, school stress, worry, and all the in-between moments that feel overwhelming.
Fun fact: The Brave Girl Project actually started because of my niece. Years ago, my niece was dealing with some tough friendship challenges (the kind where one day you’re in and the next day, you’re out). At the same time as a school counselor, I was seeing so many girls at my school struggling with the same issues. The patterns were clear—relational aggression, exclusion, anxiety, self-doubt—and I knew I wanted to do something to help.
That’s when The Brave Girl Project was born. I wanted to create a space where girls could get the support, tools, and confidence to handle friendships, school stress, and life’s ups and downs—without feeling alone in it.
Now, years later, I’m incredibly happy to share that The Brave Girl Project has supported many families, guiding parents and their daughters through the challenging transitions of middle school, high school, and beyond.
Parents often reach out to tell me how grateful they are for the peace, practical tools, and understanding they've gained—not only to support their daughters but also themselves. Because the truth is, many of the challenges our teens face, like friendship struggles, confidence-building, and anxiety, are things we adults still encounter, too.
I’m deeply thankful for all the amazing parents and brave tween and teen girls who have worked hard, trusted the process, and openly shared their journeys. Your courage, growth, and thoughtful feedback inspire me daily. It’s because of you that The Brave Girl Project has grown into a community that helps so many families thrive.
I'm genuinely honored to have you here, and excited to continue supporting you on your family's journey toward confidence, clarity, and courage.
As a parent, I know how hard it can be to figure out exactly what your child needs. You want to support her, but sometimes it’s tough to know the best way forward. And let’s be honest—when looking for help, you also want to feel comfortable and confident with the person guiding your child.
That’s why I offer a free 30-minute consultation—a chance for us to chat about what’s going on, explore ways I can support your daughter, and help you feel confident in your next steps.
Whether your daughter is struggling with friendship challenges, confidence, anxiety, or school stress, I’m here to listen, offer strategies, and give you practical tools to help.
