Self Care Resources For Parents And Daughters Of All Ages!

Hi Brave Friends,

In the fast-paced and demanding world we live in, it's easy for parents and children to neglect their own well-being while attending to the responsibilities of daily life. However, self-care is not just a luxury but a crucial aspect of maintaining a healthy and balanced life for both parents and children. Taking care of one's mental and physical health is not only essential for personal well-being but also for fostering stronger family bonds and promoting a positive environment.

For parents, self-care practices range from simple strategies like getting enough rest, setting boundaries, and engaging in hobbies to more profound exercises like mindfulness and seeking support from loved ones. Embracing these practices can help parents maintain their sense of self amidst the responsibilities of parenthood and foster a healthier, more nurturing environment for their children.

Self-care Tips for Parents:

  1. Prioritize sleep.
  2. Set boundaries and take personal time.
  3. Engage in hobbies and activities you enjoy.
  4. Seek support from family and friends.
  5. Practice mindfulness and relaxation techniques.
  6. Stay physically active.
  7. Maintain social connections.
  8. Limit screen time.
  9. Laugh and have fun.
  10. Treat yourself to occasional pampering.

For children, self-care is equally vital in shaping their emotional and physical development. Encouraging regular sleep, balanced nutrition, and creative pursuits are just a few ways to promote a child's overall well-being. By teaching children to manage stress, communicate openly, and maintain a positive outlook through affirmations, we equip them with valuable life skills that will serve them well into adulthood.

Self-care Tips for Children:

  1. Encourage regular sleep.
  2. Provide balanced nutrition.
  3. Establish a routine.
  4. Encourage physical activity and play.
  5. Foster creativity.
  6. Limit screen time.
  7. Teach mindfulness and stress management.
  8. Create a safe space for communication.
  9. Use positive affirmations.
  10. Plan family activities for bonding and fun.

Young Women's Power Circle -
This is an accepting community for young women heading off to college.

My friend Hilary Mae, a former therapist for teen girls and a coach for Mothers and Teen Daughters, has designed the Young Women's Power Circle to support college-age girls (18-22).

This is an intimate online group to support determined young women who crave more peace, confidence, and connection as they navigate their college years.

This program meets bi-weekly for a virtual call, and there is a chat group for ongoing support. This program runs throughout the school year.

In today's challenging world, young women often benefit from a supportive community to share experiences and receive valuable feedback.

Hilary is happy to chat and answer any questions you might have. You can schedule a call by clicking here.

Check out my Instagram interview with Hilary to learn more about the Young Women's Power Circle.

The Brave Girl Tribe offers a safe and nurturing online space specifically designed for 5th to 8th-grade girls to support each other and grow together.

At The Brave Girl Tribe, we go beyond just creating friendships. Our community is dedicated to building confidence and bravery in every girl. Through our empowering coaching and educational resources, your daughter will have access to a wealth of tools and guidance to help her flourish.

What Does It Mean to Be a Guest?
As a guest of The Brave Girl Tribe, your daughter will have the unique opportunity to join one of our live Sunday Zoom coaching sessions. She’ll get to experience our community firsthand, where girls in grades 5 through 8 come together to share their experiences, receive support, and learn valuable life skills.

We want every girl to feel comfortable, so there's no pressure to turn on her camera or speak up during the session—she can simply listen in and soak up the positive energy! Of course, if she feels inspired to participate, we’re here to welcome her with open arms. Either way, she'll be a valued part of our Brave Girl Tribe experience!

Warm Wishes,

Laura Hayes
